How we came to be

The Human Rights Association of Australia was born in recognition of the Human Rights Violations occuring in Couran Cove, Australia for more than a year in contravention of international treaties with no effective action taken by the government in resolving these violations.

While the government focuses on a small selection of human rights mostly related to discrimination, they ignore other important human rights such as the right to water. This leaves many people without access to drinking water or sewerage who are effectively forced from their homes.

Government representatives and members of parliament often say it is beyond their control or ignore you completely. Human rights organisations in Australia often state that they exist for research research purposes and cannot help or advise with regard to human rights violations actually happening in Australia.

Apathy of the government can not be left unchallenged
